Hey, Y'all Hey! Today is the BIG DAY! You guys are finally reading this first blog post entry which means Kapturing Kaytee is finally LIVE! This website has been my baby for over a year. I have been working on this website for so long that it feels so good to finally let you guys see this. I hope you guys love Kapturing Kaytee as much as I do as it represents the very essence of who I am. For the past 6 years as an Influencer, I have been "Kapturing" myself through brand shoots, YouTube vlogs, and sharing my life publicly with you guys on social media. That it feels so good to finally have a little spot on the internet to call my own. That is what Kapturing Kaytee is all about, sharing what I am most passionate about, sharing about my career as a content creator, and "Kapturing" all that makes me Kaytee. With that, this passion project of mine is finally here and I cannot wait to continue to create and Kapture all that makes me who I am. I am so glad to have you here!! Come on in and stay awhile! Launch Day Was So Exciting! 

Y'all launch day was OFFICIALLY successful thanks to you guys! Your outpouring of support and love on my new website has been nothing short of amazing. It is one of the reasons I LOVE my career so much. I don't look at my "following" as "followers" but as a huge group of friends. Because truthfully a lot of you guys are my close friends. I want you guys to think of my website as a safe space for "girl talk" and where you guys can come to find my favorite brands, products, and what is going on in my life. I plan to share it all here and bare it all here. Thank you, guys, so much for the outpouring of love and for those of you who have shared my website on your social media platforms. My best friend is one of them and it truly means the world to me. I heard so many positive compliments from friends and family who said my website is terrific and that means so much to me. I worked very hard on this website and I will continue to pour into it nightly because it is my baby so to speak. I have a ton of content to create over the weekend but we also have some home repairs happening. I needed a new dishwasher, the bathroom is finally being painted after 2 years of harassing my landlord to do it. We also are getting brand-new floors installed in the bathroom as well! So I am excited to finally have a bathroom I can be proud of again and create my "self-care" Sunday shares again. I have a dentist's appointment on Saturday so it will be a very busy weekend. But I will be sharing some new content with you guys soon! Until my next blog please just know how much I love you guys and how much your support means to me. Manic Panic X Influenster Campaign 

Recently for the New Year, I decided to do an overhaul on my hair and was sent this amazing package from Manic Panic and Influenster. When it starts getting closer to my birthday and spring I like to lighten my hair or do a balayage to my hair. So this package truly came at the perfect timing. I decided to do a balayage to my hair since the package contained the color "Bat OUtta Hell '' and it was thee most beautiful espresso brown color. My hair is a light brown dark mixture naturally so it was perfect for my balayage idea. I decided to do my roots with the 'Bat OUtta Hell' color mixed with lowlights using the color throughout my hair. While lightening my light brown and doing some blonde highlights through my hair. I am obsessed and think it truly came out so beautifully. New Year New Hair Vibes!! This is how the caption for the social media post read:

Life Cereal X Influenster Campaign

Picture an early Saturday morning in the 90s, your favorite cartoons are playing in the background, your parents are still sleeping, and you are old enough to make yourself a bowl of cereal. Aww, the nostalgia y'all. I was born in 1987 so I grew up in the 90s and remember all the "Mikey He Likes It" commercials for Life Cereal. In our household as kids we always had LIfe Cereal in our kitchen cupboards. Sure our parents occasionally bought a "SUgary" cereal brand but for the most part, we ate Life Cereal. And that is still a love in my household long into adulthood. So when I found out I was getting to participate in this campaign I was thrilled. My husband and I often snack on Life Cereal for bedtime after Ava goes to bed. This campaign truly was a match made in heaven. My husband is currently watching Netflix and eating a bowl of Life Cereal as we speak while I am writing this blog post for y'all. We eat cereal for breakfast and snacks often! My husband and I sneak bowls of cereal at nighttime after Ava is in bed. But we also both love the ORIGINAL because it brings us back to those nostalgic childhood memories of eating a bowl of cereal while watching cartoons on a Saturday morning!

Homeschooling with Night Zookeeper 

Y'all know I homeschool Ava and have done so since halfway through her first-grade year. When Ava was attending virtual learning in public school she was so frustrated sitting on 3-hour zoom calls. I felt like it was doing her a disservice, especially in reading and writing because her old teacher would rush her and tell me Ava didn't understand sight words. I knew that was false because Ava has been reading since she was 2 years old. She is a very bright little girl. Her first word was at six months old and she said "Grandpa" so I knew that it was not a conducive learning environment for her. Fall that year came and the school district was talking about increasing zoom classes to six-hour days. That was my final straw and I decided homeschooling was the best option we had. At the beginning of second grade Ava wanted to try in-person learning so we gave that a shot and after 4 weeks we decided to return to homeschooling her. I truly feel I made the best choice for her learning experience by being her homeschool teacher and creating our own environment that allows patience and fun to take the lead in how she learns. That is where Night Zookeeper comes into our story with homeschooling. We are so fortunate to have found NZK and for me to land an affiliate partnership with them. It Takes Village X Influence.Co 

Back in April 2021, I was allowed to create my own "creator community" with Influence. Co. Influence. Co helped me grow as an up-and-coming Influencer. A lot of my campaigns and partnerships have come from Influence.Co for example Tube It Up & Airborne. I have been so blessed to participate in some amazing partnerships by being an active member of the Influence.Co community. Since joining back when I first started my career as a creator I was always a very active member of the Influence.Co community. So to be allowed to participate in the "Creator Community" space was truly such an honor. Since growing as a creator and going back to college I have not had as much time as I would like to participate in campaigns and grow my community "It Takes A Village." But now that I am on a break from college until Fall 2023 I am diving back into Influence.Co by applying to new campaigns and getting back into growing my "Creator Community" with Influence. Co. 

I wanted to create this blog post to share with y'all a little bit more about what "It Takes A Village" is and how you can join the community if you are a mama, content creator, or business-minded woman. I would love to have more amazing ladies join us and enjoy all that the community has to offer. 

"It Takes A Village '' was created with moms in mind as that old saying goes when raising a child/ren it takes a village and that is how the concept was conceived. Balancing motherhood, a career, household, college, being a wife, and all the other hats I wear I wanted a safe space where like-minded women like myself could congregate. Happy February, a new month means new blog posts with some of my favorite brands. I was born in February, the month of LOVE and I truly love this month and all the "love" vibes it comes with. Influenster X Safeway X Pepsi X Tostitos 

Hey, y'all Hey! I am back with another blog post and brand shoot. This shoot was incredibly special to me because I got to shoot content for Safeway, Tostitos, Influenster, and Pepsi. If y'all have been following me for a while you guys know that my mama passed away in March of 2013 and she was my very best friend. I was very close with my mother so as you can imagine her death has always been a profound loss for me. It is coming up on her birthday February 28th and her death date March 15th. She has been gone for almost a decade and that is truly crazy for me to think about and for me to emotionally process. It feels like just yesterday she left this earthly plane while also feeling like an entire lifetime has passed me by as well. 

Football and Pepsi were always two things my mother loved and two things we shared together as mother and daughter. We used to spend every Sunday together during football season going out for our weekly mother & daughter day dates and we always would end up eating wings and drinking Pepsi. As a child, my mother used to drink Pepsi out of this huge cup filled to the brim with ice! My brother and I were always sneaking sips out of her cup when she wasn't looking because something about "mamas" special Pepsi cup always made the Pepsi taste that much better. It is honestly a childhood memory that has stuck with me through my adult life and something I now share with my daughter. It is funny the things you remember from your childhood. My mama's special Pepsi cup is one I will always carry with me. 

That is why creating content for Pepsi, Tostitos, and Safeway was such an honor, and an honor I will always hold super close to my heart because I felt like a piece of my mother was with me for this brand shoot. I have been struggling emotionally this month a lot because my birthday is in five days and her birthday is at the end of the month. She would have been 66 years old this year. We are exactly thirty years apart from one another so while I am embarking on the age of 36 my mama would have been 66. She passed at 56 years old so this year truly feels harder on me emotionally compared to previous years. 

I know it sounds crazy but I do not believe in coincidences and I truly feel like the timing of this brand shoot came for a special reason for me. Creating content for the Superbowl right before my birthday with my mother's favorite soda brand feels like a piece of her is still with me as I continue to embark on my career as an Influencer. She was always my greatest cheerleader and she truly believed in my dreams to be "famous" and wealthy. I always knew I was destined for greatness in my life and my mother also knew that and she always believed in me. So thank you Influenster, Safeway, Tostitos, and Pepsi for this INCREDIBLE honor in creating this special "GAME DAY" content. This was more than just a brand shoot for me it truly felt like my mother was a part of my content creation today. It gave me the sense of closeness I needed after almost a decade of feeling the profound loss of her death.

One of my mother's favorite songs was "Wind beneath my wings" by Bette Midler and I can truly say as I have continued to grow and embark on my path as an Influencer my mother has truly been the wind beneath my wings. Fresh Step X Influenster Campaign

I can say I am loving using this litter for Blu it gives me such peace of mind to know it is helping me monitor her health and if anything is cause for alarm I can take her to the vet immediately. Hey y'all Hey, Another one of my favorite campaigns I did after my hospitalization was Hero Cosmetics. You guys know I love their pimple patches and I have used a ton of their products while working with them in the past. I SWEAR by their pimple patches and always have them in my beauty arsenal. Now this NEW mask of theirs is another STAPLE I will always have in my arsenal. This is what I wrote about it on social media when I was sharing about the campaign.

Tonight I am using the NEW Pore Purity mask from Hero Cosmetics and y’all I am OBSESSED with this mask already. This creamy clay mask works gently to remove oil and impurities from the skin while rinsing away in a clean, soft, and sudsy wash! This is probably one of my FAVORITE parts about this mask. Packed with ingredients like glacial sea clay which clarifies skin, volcanic clay with sulfur which absorbs oil and impurities, and spirulina + sea kelp bio-ferment to soothe and moisturize skin. This mask is perfect for my skin type I have combination + acne-prone skin. I am loving the results from using this twice this week!

Capri Sun Roarin' Waters X Influenster 

Hey y'all Hey, So during Juneteenth Ava got to shoot this campaign for Capri Sun X Influenster and she was so excited and proud of herself. She has worked with Capri Sun before in the past on a previous campaign and y'all know she loves Capri Sun. When she was attending in-person school last fall before we transitioned back into homeschooling she always had a Capri Sun packed in her lunchbox. So her working with them is always something she gets so excited about doing. This is what we shared on social media about this campaign.

It Cosmetics X Influenster Skincare Campaign

Hey, Y'all Hey! So one of the last campaigns I recently did was the It Cosmetics Skincare campaign. You guys know I am an AVID skincare user and junkie. So this was probably one of my FAVORITE campaigns to do. I actually did an unboxing on TikTok as well for this campaign. Y’all know I am #skincare obsessed so anytime I get to try out new skincare products I’m so excited! I love everything from It Cosmetics y’all know I have worked with them many times in the past and have tried out numerous products from them. From makeup to skincare everything I have tried I fall head over heels in love with them. Their bye-bye dark spots serum is saving me this summer with my sun spots. I also have freckles across my nose and cheeks that I love but they get super dark in summer and I’m loving that my skin is so radiant and clear. I have on minimal makeup foundation-wise. I’m actually wearing the It Cosmetics CC cream with SPF in the fair. I always do one pump cause it gives the best coverage but I like my makeup super light. I have always used their CC cream. What I love is that the Confidence in a Cream moisturizer sits so well under the CC cream and gives me the most plump and radiant skin. 

I have been using these two products in conjunction with my normal skincare and makeup products and I’m OBSESSED!  

I will definitely be repurchasing these products when I run out.

Kraft Mayo x Influenster Campaign

Hey, y'all I know it has been a while since I updated you guys here on Kapturing Kaytee. Ava recently turned 8 on August 5th, and it has been a circus over here for me! Between setting up for her birthday party pretty much by myself "my husband did help when he could but he works a lot" and getting ready for the back-to-school season. It has been ALOT but I wanted to share a few of our most recent campaigns with you guys. On Ava's birthday at her birthday party, we got to do a shoot with Kraft Mayo they had a new Buffalo Style dressing they sent to us and it was AMAZING. Ava had a huge party with all her neighborhood friends and her cousins and said it was the best birthday she ever had. I would say that is a mama success for me!

Clorox X Influenster Back to School Campaign 

Hey, Y'all Hey I am back to share another brand campaign this time it is Clorox X Influenster. Clorox had their back-to-school campaign and I honestly cannot believe that it is already the back-to-school season. Like WHAT where did the summer go? I feel like the summer just flew by so fast and I honestly cannot believe my baby girl is going into the third grade y'all. Anyways we did receive these products for free from Influenster and Clorox in exchange for my honest review. Clorox is a STAPLE brand in my household so of course I loved these products. Summer flew by so fast like I cannot even believe it. Y’all know I #homeschool Ava but we did decide to put her in a homeschool options program this year. So she will be having one day a week where she goes to school in person with other homeschooled kids. Other kids = germs and y’all know after what I went through in May I am all about fighting germs in my household. I have Clorox on hand at my house all the time. We always have Clorox bleach, disinfecting wipes, and their disinfecting mist in my cleaning arsenal. I keep wipes in my car, my purse, in my kitchen, and my bathroom. They are absolutely a must when you have kids. They help clean surfaces so easily and are great for travel, cars, offices, and classrooms too! They are also teacher's #1 wipe and this #homeschoolmoms too! The disinfecting mist is great for counters, door knobs, couches, car interiors, plastic toys, and bedding! They also work great to spray down your kiddo's backpacks and lunch bags when they come home from school. 

I love that Clorox helps kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses! Keeping my home and car germ-free!

California Naturals X Kaytee Godiva Campaign 

Hey, Y'all Hey! I am back with another brand campaign and update on some new clean hair care products I am loving! So if you know me well, you know I am obsessed with Target and clean beauty products. From skincare to haircare and makeup. I love anything that is clean and plant-based. So I was recently approached by a clean haircare brand that was launching their haircare products this summer in Target stores. They wanted to work with me and I of course was graciously open to the collaboration and excited to share this brand and their products with y'all. I also loved that this brand California Naturals was featured recently in Vanity Fair. So I knew this was a great collaboration for me and matched my vibe as a content creator. Y'all know me for my love of all things plant-based and beauty and this was such an out of my comfort zone photo shoot for me. I literally shot this campaign on-site at my local Target store and y'all when I say shooting content in public while everyone is staring at you is nerve-wracking. It truly is but I feel like to grow as a content creator I have to push myself to think outside the box and get out of my comfort zones. I am glad that I did because I think the shoot came out wonderful.

Target one of my FAVORITE places in the world. Clean hair, skin, and beauty products are one of my FAVORITE splurges when I go to Target. I was so excited to see California Naturals on the shelves today. I grabbed the Daily Conditioner for all hair types. Because y’all know both Ava and me have curly hair. So anything with coconut milk we love! I love that this conditioner has both Avocado  & Coconut  Milk to deeply nourish hair. Neostrata X Influenster 

Hey, Y'all Hey I am back again with a skincare campaign! Y'all know my love for skincare is infinite and I truly have a passion for it. So anytime I get to do any kind of skincare campaign I am so happy. Disclaimer: I did receive these two products for free from Influenster and Neostrata for free in exchange for my honest review. I love all things Vitamin C when it comes to skincare. So when I received these two products I was so excited to incorporate them into my skincare regimen.

Vitamin C is one of my FAVORITE ingredients when it comes to skincare. Vitamin C is so good for your skin allow me to enlighten you on its benefits. It helps with uneven skin tone, texture, dark spots, and dark patches. Allowing dead skin to gently be sloughed off the surface and allow fresh and renewed surface layers to emerge. If you want healthy, radiant, and GLOWING skin you need to add Vitamin C to your skincare routine. I was sent the NEW Radiance AHA cleanser for cleaner, brighter, and more even-looking skin and I can say it delivers! I have been using it for a couple of weeks twice a day in the shower and I love it. I can say my skin looks radiant. Ask my best friend @real_killakammm she saw me last weekend for Ava’s birthday and mentioned my skin is glowy. The 15% Vitamin C + PHA serum is AMAZING! I use this once in the morning and I love it. The new layers of my skin look so good!! My skin is radiant, bright, plump, and fresh. Y’all know I always keep it real when it comes to skincare. The End of Summer Carnivals & Beginning of Autumn Festivals 

Hey, Y'all Hey I am back to share some of my FAVORITE money-saving tips for attending the end-of-summer carnivals and the beginning of Autumn festivals! 

In July we attended the Arapahoe County Fair and it inspired me to write this blog post as we also attend a ton of festivals and pumpkin patches in the Fall. As y'all know that can add up financially real quick with ticket pricing, parking, concession, and any extra attraction costs that may arise. Over the years I have taken note of all of these costs and came up with a guide of some of my FAVORITE money-saving tips. You can save money at festivals and fairs while also still having a ton of fun and making memories with your family. 

MY Guide to Saving Money for Carnivals & Festivals 

1. Research the festival or fair you are attending first. Always make sure you are aware of their rules like whether you can bring in your own water bottle, or if you can bring in a bag, and if are you going to have to pay for parking, etc. 

2. If the festival you are attending allows you to bring in your own bag and you have children I highly suggest packing your own snacks. Concession prices can be outrageous for example we paid $12.00 for a funnel cake. So I always suggest packing extra snacks for your kiddos so you can feed them if they are hungry but also save some money. That way if you do buy a concession item you can cut some of your costs. Ava is a snack monster so this was super helpful for me when we attended the pumpkin patch in 2022 and carnival this summer.  

3. Bring your own water bottles because y'all spending $4.00 per bottle is ludicrous if you can bring in a bag chances are you can pack your own water bottles. Most places have places where you can fill up your water bottle as you go through the festival. That way you can cut costs and use that money to buy a lemonade or apple cider. 

4. Don't forget the sunscreen even in the fall.! It is important to remember your SPF! This isn't a money-saving tip but if you get a sunburn you won't be enjoying your time at the festival especially if you are spending the day there. If you end up having to leave early because you or your kiddos got a sunburn that is a waste of a ticket. 

5. Wear comfortable shoes especially if you are doing a ton of walking around. I once made the mistake of wearing sandals to the pumpkin patch because it was still 90 degrees in Colorado that year. WORST IDEA EVER! My feet hurt they had a corn maze and let me tell you walking a corn maze in sandals is NOT SMART! Wear comfortable boots or tennis shoes and thank me later. I wouldn't say this is a money-saving tip but it is a VALUABLE TIP! Especially if you wear nice shoes and they get ruined. Just don't wear something you don't mind getting dirty! Otherwise, you are going to have to spend money on getting new shoes to replace the ones ruined so it is smarter to wear shoes you don't care about in the event that they do get ruined.  

6. If you go to a festival that has pay by the pound for your pumpkins this fall. Be aware it can be super pricey! We once spent close to $35.00 on 3 pumpkins and that was stupid to me. Some places like Maize in the City have pumpkins that are much cheaper and just as nice. I always say cut costs on the pumpkin picking and save that for doing some of the attractions like the corn mazes or hay rides. Memories are always worth investing in but pumpkins we carve for jack-o-lanterns or turn into pumpkin pie and it is better to save money there. 

7. If you can purchase your entry tickets online before attending the fair or festival DO IT! Most places will give you a discount for doing so and you can save some money that way! Every penny saved is a penny earned in my book. 

8. My last money-saving tip for you is to eat lunch before you go to the festival because some of the concession pricing on items like hotdogs is outrageous. We did find $2.00 hotdogs luckily at the Arapahoe County fair this year but the majority of the time we know better. We usually grab fast food on our way there or if you can bring in your own bag pack a lunch and do a picnic at the festival. Trust me it is much more cost-effective this way and that way you can enjoy other concession items like candy apples, cotton candy, popcorn, or funnel cakes.

Summer Beauty Box X Influenster

My content now will be focused on the fall season plus I will also be focusing on creating content for TikTok as I was brought on as a creator for TikTok Shop! But my love for all things Summer Beauty has not. I was so excited to receive this box of goodies recently to test out. This is the Summer Beauty Faves box and it is AMAZING! I love the perfume and hair serum the most for sure. Viktor & Rolf is my FAVORITE perfume company of all time. Those who know me best know that Flower Bomb is my number #1 FAVORITE fragrance of all time! And Good Fortune has now taken #2. This scent screams warm summer nights to me. It’s sultry and warm with the slightest hint of sweetness to it. It’s an enthralling incense top note while Jasmine Superinfusion takes center stage. I am obsessed and my hubby loves it when I wear it. He always compliments me when he smells it. The Blue Tansy Treatment Serum from Adwoa Beauty is INCREDIBLE on my naturally curly hair. I pair it with my #selfcaresunday hair mask and my curls look so smooth and defined when I do. 1 squirt is all you need! I do love the brand Belif and I like the Aqua Bomb True cream but I have to use it sparingly otherwise I will break out. My skin is so sensitive to new products that I am very cautious when I introduce to products to my face. I do like that it provides an amazing burst of hydration for dry and dull skin. So I plan to use this product more when the “fall & winter” dry months here in Colorado take hold. Summer it’s a bit too heavy for my sensitive skin. The don’t grow there has been a game changer for hair density when I shave or wax. I have noticed a change in frequency. I am excited to use it for the next 28 days and see how much it helps my course dark hair on my legs and underarms. I’ll keep y’all posted.
